GJ’s witnessed an evening of incredible guitar playing, great videos and very funny stories from Jennifer’s tours with Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck and her own life on the road. Thanks Jennifer.

Full County Times front page article:- Article:- "One of Michael Jackson’s top guitarists wowed a sell-out crowd in Storrington this week. Guitarist Jennifer Batten flew over from America to play a two-hour exclusive gig at GJ’s Guitar Emporium in West Street on Wednesday. During the performance she played music from her new album, Whatever, while promoting Washburn guitars. Throughout her successful career she has played with many big names including touring with the King of Pop for ten years during his legendary ‘Bad’, ‘Dangerous’ and ‘HIStory’ tours. She said of Jackson: “He had a great sense on humour. “I have not really got to grieve just yet. I heard the choir start (during the televised memorial service) and I just started to lose it so I had to turn it off. “But I saw Brooke Shields speak when I stopped over and that was great.” Jennifer said one of the highlights of her career was the year-and-a-half ‘Bad’ tour, which started in 1987. “Everything was new and it was the first time I got to see the world” she explained. “Everybody in the band really looked after each other - it was a really good group.” Although very different to performing in many of the major capitals in the world, Jennifer said she was glad to be in Storrington. “The big cities get everybody and they are kinda jaded” she said. The gig was just one of many similar events held at GJ’s Guitar Emporium. To celebrate the shop’s first anniversary, it is hosting guest musicians and special offers on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2. Jennifer started playing Washburn guitars 14 years ago during the Jackson ’HIStory’ tour. The special edition Washburn Jennifer played on Wednesday is signed by Les Paul, John Mclaughlin, Jimmy Page and Vic Reeves. Jennifer’s new CD/DVD, Whatever, is out now and includes ten new tracks and more than 90 minutes of videos, interviews and a guitar lesson.
